Haha surprised to see my entry? Yeah my blog has been building spiderwebs for 2 months! haha but anyway, heres a big entry for my recent Taiwan trip with my Darling haha I must say its a fulfilling trip and a dream come true!

It all started during 5th May this year when Darling's friend told her that Jetstar is having a 1 for 1 promo to Taiwan but well luck isnt on our side cos most of the tixs were taken and vacancies were scarce. Nonetheless, our excitment were triggered by this info and we spent abt a month preparing for our trip! We decided to have a 9 days trip there from 070707(significant day) till 150707, with our month anni in between on the 11th haha. Darling called up hotels while i book tickets and a one night stay at Jian Hu San (themepark) Prince hotel for our anni and also my secret mission of calling CTV for details of Guess guess guess variety show recording, which is a surprised I planned for darling. Ok enough of story telling... Are u ready for Taiwan? Here we go!

First day, 070707 (Saturday)

Met Darling at 10am for breakfast together with her mum at BK to have our fav crossant Ham Sanwich! yum!! 



Look at her mum so happy haha and our pic b4 entering the gates. Went to DFS to preorder some wine and others so no need to queue and we scared might not have the brand of wine Cheryl asked as to help her get. 




Spent awhile shopping around and realised we are super ahead of time so we took some pics haha Whats that?!?! Oh thats Darlings fav mint sweet from Candy empire haha bought a small packet from their Millenia Walk branch b4 coming too bad big packet no stock if not sure buy... Hello hello?! anyone there?!?!

Once we reached there, we were greeted by this Bus company called Freego (Fei Gou, "Flying DOG"). Cost us NT135 to get to Ximenting in arnd 45 min if not jam on highway. Their seats are big! Bigger than those in Singapore but its kinda common there.






We reached Rainbow Hotel at arnd 7+pm, took room no. 810, heres some pics of the room.




We then threw our luggage and off we go to the MRT (METRO) station to get our EASY card, very similar to our ezylink at NT500 with NT100 refundable deposit. The train fare there is cheap! the whole trip we only topped up once though we travel most on the MRT. So we took the train and head for JianTan station for Shilin. NOTE: you dun alight at Shilin station to go shilin night market but dun ask be why haha.




The first thing we ate there is Guan Cai Ban! Nice! Initially I thought it would be salty type but its actually have kinda salad taste to it. Theres only one store selling it there. The place on the right of the second pic where theres alot of colourful Temp shelters are the eating areas where u find the Big chicken cutlets (Hao da da ji pai) and stuffs. the left where u see buildings across the road is where u get all the shopping sprees u want. Food in Taiwan is cheap arnd NT30-40 to get a dish and its quite filling despite the amount.




Ok no time to take pics while shopping cos theres so much to shop! We went to Shilin at least 5-6 times and everytime full of things to carry back haha. Look at Darling's hand, the first white plastic with yellow logo is Hao da da ji pai! so big 2 person can hardly finish. Its about the size of an A4 Magazine. And heres our spree on the very first night in Shilin night market. We never fail to sleep after 1am every night haha watching TV, and enjoying ourselves.

Day 2, 080707 (Sunday)

The first thing we did is to head down to the third floor of rainbow to have our provded breakfast with this voucher. Menus almost the same everyday so we only eat in the hotel on certain days if we are press for time.




Went back to get ourselves changed and ready for our outing. Some shots haha




We were still hungry so decided to head down the street stalls to try some local food, shredded chicken rice, dry noodles, carrot cake. NICE!!!!! all with Milk tea for abt NT120 if i didnt remember wrongly.


Every Sunday at Ximenting is very happening sure got some concert or album signing event in front of rainbow hotel haha the first Sunday we went saw Nan Chuan Mama (South Punch Mummy). The people there set up stage super fast. Such a complicated stage just took them one night to set up!




So off we went to our first stop! Guang Hua electronic, the Sim Lim Square of Taipei. Its rather small there cos the vendors have been shifted from their main building due to contruction but nonetheless we still found wat we want! haha. Saw this cute mini van there haha.


Next, Taipei Cityhall station. From afar u can see Taipei101 but its too misty that day so we didnt go there.




Now here comes the place where we spent the whole after there. Xing Guang San Yue dept. Its almost like Takashimaya but its like 4-5 of them linked together!!! super duper big! Darling bought her dream clothes here, from KnightsBridge, very nice clothes also worn by some Taiwan celebrities.


See Darling is super satisfied with her buy and shes so happy the whole day haha. We can have GST rebate too! and they gave us NT500 voucher cos we used mastercard to pay. In the end we used the voucher in their super market to get some food and stuffs haha for free!










We had our small dinner at the famous Hu Xu Zhang, chicken rice and Darling's fav Yu Mi Nong Tang! NICE!!! and a toufu dish Near Wu fen pu.


After dinner we headed to Raohe night market first to get our DaDa supreme shoes! Always wanted to get my hands on them and finally able to own one myself! haha. The area is just behind Wufenpu area.








So next comes wu fen pu! Darling bought alot of clothes here and from the pictures you might realised that most of the clothes here are wholesale for ladies. There are guy shops around but quite handful and more exp than Shilin. But i bought a Bermudas here though very nice colour and its hard to find in Singapore though its simple designs and i think will cost quite abit back in Singapore.

Oh ya i forgot to mention that on our way to Raohe, we stopped by Watsons! We went into almost every Watsons to get our things and Darling found this interesting hair extension and bought one bak to play! haha very easy clip on thingy and natural in look!

We got Big buys for that day alone and also the day we spent the most! Look! our desert for the night, Dunkin Donuts! Buy 5 get 1 free, buy 9 get 3 free!

Day 3, 090707 (Monday)


Its the day for Darling's surprise!!! Guess guess guess recording at CTV!!! Our outfit for the day =)


















Darling brought me to Dan Dan Wu (Egg house) for lunch! super nice and u can choose 2 side orders with NT100 topup. Its very near Ximen MRT exit as u can see, our food!!! oh no it makes me hungry now! haha




Timing was just nice, so we went to take MRT to Kunyang station. Look at Darling trying to act as Hu Xu Zhang! hahhaha! At this time darling still didnt know where we are heading to haha. Initially thought she will know when we board the Taxi but in the end cos I went to check price with the uncle b4 boarding so in the end she still didnt get to know until we get there and overheard me asking for directions at CTV info counter.






Look at the crowd mostly Taiwanese and quite abit of Singaporeans too! While waiting at the waiting area we spotted this act cool Singaporean guy. Its so darn hot inside and hes still wearing his sweater! In the end he gave up and took it off! haha Mind u the temp in Taipei now is abt 35 degrees! Luckily i prepared Electronic handheld fan for this trip! Darling's fav device i must say haha everytime she on it she'll go "WA! hahaha".




And WE're IN! haha lightings and stuffs. We are sitting in front of the screen where the Guests walks out of it with Cold smoke effect!

And so we ended up at Shilin again to have our dinner and Shop!!! Some Squid stew thingy, Prawn Omelette and Tian Fu Luo.


Look at the crowd you think its very Crowded? You should see crowds on Sunday haha butt stick to butts!!! Those stalls you see in the middle of the road is illegal o! Once police comes they will disappear like wind!! Bing bing Piang piang and they're gone! haha

Day 4, 100707 (Tuesday)

We went to this small corner stall to get ourselves a Big Yam bun (Man Tou) with egg haha super big!


Today is the day we head for Jinguashih, Jiufen and Keelung. Took MRT to Taipei Main station, on the way saw some kids from school haha.




We need to transfer to Train to get to Ruifang station. Yup thats me! haha








Darling looking at the train schedule, and before u know it, the train is here! theres no more seats so we had to get standing tickets.




And there u go, we reached Ruifang station in arnd 45min. The train is slower then MRT but still ok.






Got our tickets to Jinguashih from this mama shop, an old goldmine very near to Jiufen. See the taps at the bottom right corner of the tickets? Those are free bus rides which we used to take bus from Ruifang to Jinguashih, to Jiufen and Keelung. Saved us quite abit on transport.




After that, we crossed the road outside the train station to board a bus and in abt 20min, we are here!


Outside the area, i tried to take this pic, which is supposed to be my reflection thru Darling's shades haha but in the end turned out to be a nice shot for Darling! haha








The first place we went was this Japanese house which houses the owners of the goldmine last time. Some of the areas they try to manipulate like the olden days.












Next to the goldmine! Darling poses with an uncle miner haha. And a pic someone took for us on the way to the mine. We had to pay another NT50 to get into the mine though and we had to wear safety helmets! haha its airconditioned in there so not hot at all.

The sceneries in this area was superb! But the weather was super hot! Darling bought this cute looking ice cream! yummy!










Done with Jinguashih, we headed down to Jiufen! a relaxing place... Ate our lunch there, the famous big fishball. The fishball feels very different from those in Singapore, harder to bite but this meat ball is delicious!

Another nice desert for a hot day! Fen Yuan! taste like Bo bo Cha cha ingredients, purple are yam, orange are sweet potato flavours with grass jelly toppings in ice shavings.










Now we head down to Keelung for Miaokow market to eat their famous fresh seafood! we were there quite early so didnt get to see much. To get there, walk towards this big macdonalds, and go to the underpass to get there. once inside u should be able to find this sign. Once out of the underpass, walk straight along some shops and u will get to Miaokow in no time.






Its raining anyway so we decided to eat this famous Nai You Pang Xie!!! (butter crab) yummy! 


Took Guo Guang Bus back and reached Taipei abt 6+ just nice to make another trip to where?? YES! Shilin again!!!! hahaha our small purchases for the day.
